How does it work? 1. Authors submit articles. 2. Articles are added to the feed, which originates from this site. 3. Publishers/Editors run the content on their web sites, in their e-zines, or in their print publications by drawing on the feed. In the situation of a web site, or web e-zine, content is updated automatically on a periodic basis, by including the two-line JS coding which will be provided to you. Or, just use the RSS feed. 4. The general public can either view the content where it is syndicated, or by subscribing with their RSS Reader.

Publisher/Editor usage guidelines. All articles are copyright their respective authors, and are never to be considered in the public domain. Articles may be reprinted in media as long as the entire article is reprinted, including everything starting with the title and by-line of the article and ending with the Chess Samizdat hyperlink at the very bottom of the article. If an online publication or newsletter, make sure that all hyperlinks are active. You may replace FEN or plain text diagram descriptions with graphical diagrams in your publication. Do not abuse material received here - if you are designing a commercial product, contact each Author for permission before using their material. From time to time, articles which are in the public domain will be found here. Obviously, with public domain articles, copyright restrictions do not apply. Free reprinting of content is always allowed, subject to the above exceptions and guidelines.

Author usage guidelines. You must be the author of the article submitted. You specifically agree to hold harmless this facility, and everyone associated with it, from any legal action which arises from your article submission. You agree that the content that you submit will be sent on a live javascript/RSS feed to webmasters, e-zine editors, print publishers and other media outlets, as well as the general public, free of charge. You agree to use your real name for the by-line and real email address when corresponding with Chess Samizdat, or anyone associated with it. You agree that the editor of this facility has the final say regarding all articles submitted to it. No articles concerning illegal activities, such as warez, etc.,  pornography, or hate crimes will ever be accepted here. No hyperlinks can be added which are merely affiliate links for money-making purposes. Adding a hyperlink to your web site, or a product/service that you are offering, is perfectly understandable, and is always permitted. Text-only articles. Full address hyperlinks are permitted (and encouraged). Do not submit HTML in your articles. Diagrams can be represented by FEN (you can easily generate FEN and text diagram positions in Chessbase, for example - edit-copy-copy position copies the data into your clipboard). No other images, please. You retain all rights and copyright associated with your work - you are merely giving Chess Samizdat the right to syndicate your article(s) in its JS/RSS Feed. When you submit an article, you agree to all of these guidelines. Disputes, should they arise, between you and a publisher are a matter between you and that publisher. The only remedy, in case of unresolved disagreement between the Author and Chess Samizdat is removal of the article in question from the feed. Do not subject your humble editor to jumping through the hoops concerning your article. It can take up to 10-14 days to review and publish an article here. Every effort will be made to speed that up to 1-2 days, but 10-14 days is the "official" standard. Do not attempt repeated re-writes of your material - please get it right the first time, as much as possible. The editor has ultimate authority as to what makes the feed, and what doesn't. Some examples of acceptable article subjects follows (not an exhaustive list, obviously): Commentary (opinion or philosophy pieces), Reviews (web site, books, or software), Instructional pieces, Matters relating to web sites, Short story fiction, Poetry, Travel journals, Humor, etc. You can probably think of some others.
