The Edinburgh - London Chess Clubs Match was the first well known correspondence challenge match between clubs.

The Edinburgh Chess Club challenged the London Chess Club to a match.

The match was scheduled to continue until three decisive games were completed. Draws did not count. The stakes were a silver cup and 25 guineas.

There were five games played and the match lasted from 1824 - 1828.

Edinburgh won, 2-1.
